Three very different dental searches

Dental ad budgets get wasted when every treatment is lumped into one campaign. In reality, three kinds of searches behave completely differently:

  1. Urgent: "toothache dentist near me", "broken tooth emergency", "dentist open Sunday Jaipur". The patient wants someone close and available today. They call, they don't read.
  2. High-value, considered: dental implants, clear aligners, full-mouth rehabilitation, smile design. The patient compares clinics over weeks, worries about cost and wants to meet the dentist before deciding.
  3. Routine: cleaning, fillings, check-ups, kids' dentistry. Price-sensitive and local; often better won through Google Maps than through ads.

We build separate campaigns for the first two and usually leave the third to your Google Business Profile and dental SEO.

Urgent-care campaigns

  • Tight radius around the clinic, typically a few kilometres in Jaipur traffic.
  • Ad schedule matched to your real hours, with call ads and call assets so the phone rings directly.
  • Location assets linked to your Google Business Profile, so the map pin and reviews show inside the ad.
  • Landing page (if used) that loads instantly and shows the phone number, address and "open today" timings above everything else.

The measure here is answered calls of meaningful length, not clicks.

Implant and aligner campaigns

  • Separate ad groups for each treatment, each with its own landing page explaining the process, number of visits, what affects cost, financing or EMI options if you offer them, and the dentist who performs the treatment.
  • A consultation booking form that asks the treatment of interest and preferred time.
  • A wider radius, since patients will travel across the city or come from nearby towns for implants.
  • Remarketing to visitors who read the implant or aligner page but didn't book, with a calm reminder rather than an offer countdown.

The measure is booked and attended consultations, which means the clinic needs to record which enquiries turned up.

Filters that save money

Before launch we exclude searches that look relevant but never become patients: dental college, BDS or MDS admission, dental jobs, dental assistant course, dental equipment, free dental camp, home remedies for toothache, and tooth-related medicine names. We then review the search terms report weekly for the first two months.

Policy and professional limits

Google treats healthcare as a restricted category: ads can't make misleading claims, and health-based audience targeting is not allowed. The Dental Council of India also restricts promotional advertising by dentists. We write ads that state services, location and availability ("Root canal treatment, Vaishali Nagar, open till 8 pm") instead of superlatives, avoid price-led bait offers, and keep before-and-after images out of ads.

Meta ads for dental clinics: when they make sense

Facebook and Instagram are useful for aligner and smile-related treatments where people browse visually, and for a new clinic introducing itself to the surrounding colonies. They are weak for urgent toothache demand. If we run Meta, it's with a consultation-booking objective and a short qualifying form.

Tracking we set up before spending

Call tracking for ad calls, WhatsApp click tracking, form-submission conversions in Google Ads and GA4, and a simple shared sheet where the reception marks whether each enquiry booked and attended. Within a few weeks this shows the real cost per consultation for each treatment.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a dental clinic spend on ads?

Enough to get a steady flow of calls for one or two priority treatments for at least two to three months. Our paid ads budget estimator gives a starting range; actual cost depends on your area and competition.

Why do we get calls asking about dental courses?

Missing negative keywords. Course, college and job searches are excluded at setup and reviewed weekly.

Should we advertise prices in ads?

A clear starting price for routine treatments can filter enquiries, but avoid bait pricing. For implants and aligners, explain what affects cost on the landing page instead.

Can ads run at night for emergencies?

Only if someone answers the phone. Otherwise schedule ads to your hours and let your Google profile show your timings.

How fast will we see results?

Calls usually start within days of launch. It takes a few weeks of data to see which treatments bring patients at a sensible cost.
